Saturday 21 February, TEMPERATURA welcomes 2026 with free improvisation sets and fresh collaborations. On stage, the new, intimate, improvisational duo Bibiri (Maya Felixbrot, Aurélie Nyirabikali Lierman). The evening will close with a set by Bibiri together with the TEMPERATURA team (0C). A spontaneous quartet featuring four composers-performers, filling the night with violas, shruti boxes, voices, magnets, digital and analog electronics, and more.

Bibiri: Maya Felixbrot, Aurélie Nyirabikali Lierman
Bibiri
The duo consists of Maya Felixbrot and Aurélie Nyirabikali Lierman. Two composer-performers and long-time collaborators whose work continually evolves through unexpected contexts and setups. In early 2026, they embarked on a new intimate improvisational duo, featuring two violas, two shruti boxes, two voices, and whatever sonifiers catch their ears and eyes. This performance at Extratonal in Charlois marks the world premiere of Bibiri.
Bibiri means ‘two’ in Kinyarwanda language, and a multitude of other things in a number of other languages around the world.

Maya Felixbrot is a musician and movement artist working at the intersection of sound, movement, and performance. Her practice explores the poetics of chaos through playfulness, interdisciplinarity, and Winnicott’s concept of the Transitional Space. She performs internationally as a soloist and with ensembles, focusing on music theater and experimental music. She is a co-founder of Moving Strings and its educational platform Play As We Are, and of Zvov and Screen Dive.

Aurélie Nyirabikali Lierman studied music composition, radio documentary, Western classical singing and jazz singing. Her work, a synthesis of radio art and music theatre from an Afro-European perspective, is described as groundbreaking, daring and delicate. She brings unique stories to life in an accessible and innovative way: often based on acoustic sounds and soundscapes that she makes move like a kind of 3D cinema for the ears.

0C & guests: approximately once a month, the TEMPERATURA team (composers/performers Jasna Veličković and Fani Konstantinidou) invites guests to join them for a free improvisation set in spontaneous combinations.

* If you wish to attend but can’t afford our entry fee, please send us an email to temperatura.amsterdam (at) gmail (dot) com and we ‘ll make sure you can join us.
