GROND is a new cultural hotspot in the Bajes district in Amsterdam East, Bijdorpstraat 1, within walking distance of metro stations Spaklerweg and Overamstel. It has a Canteen + Kitchen, Open ‘Studio 1’, Workshop space ‘studio 2’, a garden and a Black Box Theater to rent out for activities such as meetings, workshops, gatherings, rehearsals, parties and concerts.

Black Box
The size is 56.4 m2 with a height of 4.6 meters. Suitable for films screenings, meetings, concerts, parties, rehearsals, performances, symposia. There’s a dance floor, professional audio and video equipment available.

Open ‘Studio 1’
Size is 35.6 m2, with a height of 4.6 meters. It’s a beautiful bright studio with large windows. Suited for various events, such as yoga, symposia, meetings, workshops, readings.
** 25 seats, can be combined or extended with the canteen space
Workshop Space ‘Studio 2’
Size is around 35.6 m2, with a height of 4.6 meters and a mezzanine of around 15m2. It’s a beautiful big studio with large windows (with curtains…). There’s a ‘wet’ space incl. water connection and an rvs table, a table with tools wall (4/5 pp) and a ‘clean’ space. The mezzanine is flexible in terms of use, for around 5 pp.

Kitchen & Canteen
37 m2, including the bar. Catering is possible, we have an enthusiastic and professional kitchen crew.

Garden
It’s possible to extend your activities to the big garden next door, which is run by a group of active volunteers.
