DESCRIPTION:To gather and to share are part of our bodies\, of how we understand and relate to the world. These actions give us the chance to imagine new worlds\, together!\n\n\nWe want to invite you on the 1st of March from 16:30 to 21:00 at GROND to keep weaving resistance. This is not a workshop. We want to hang out\, listen\, share\, and get to know each other while continuing to weave a large arpillera we started last year\, as a symbol of our community\, hermandad\, and existence in this territory. You can add your voice there\, or make your banner\, up to on you\, we will be there to facilitate :).\n\n\nA table with mixed materials for banner & textile making will be available\, so we can express our voices in whatever medium feels most comfortable for each one of us.\n\nTo celebrate our togetherness\, we will finish the night around the fire\, starting with a small ritual and ending with an Aquelarre!\n\nSo\, come join us to weave\, burn\, and care before 8M <3\n\nIf you want to participate\, please write to us at feministasenholanda@gmail.com. DESCRIPTION:Four Iftars\, fast-breaking evening meals\, in March 2025\nDuring Ramadan 2025 the artist collective We Sell Reality organizes so-called Solidarity Iftars at four Friday evenings in a row. Every Solidarity Iftar will have a focus on a certain area of conflict that is not much in the news. Together we want to break the fasting and stand still with these conflicts and developments and learn about them. We will focus on four countries: Sudan\, Haiti\, Congo and Syria. We will invite speakers who can tell us the ins and outs of what is going on in these countries. \nThe Iftars will be prepared by We Sell Reality. In return of a donation of €15 you can eat and drink. 1/3 of the sum you lay in will go to a grassroots organization in one of these four countries. Now they join forces with keyboardist and composer Tom Aldrich\, saxophonist Michiel van Dijk and spoken word artist Jeannine Valeriano. \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \nJeannine Valeriano is a writer\, singer\, spoken word performer and actress\, exploring the boundaries between language and music. \n \nMichiel van Dijk studied classical saxophone with Leo van Oostrom and jazz saxophone with John Ruocco at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag. Michiel has played with almost all the renowned orchestras and ensembles in the Netherlands. Additionally\, he has collaborated with various theater productions and ensembles as a composer and arranger. \n \nTom Aldrich is the leader of the group Zolder Ellipsis and was a co-founder of the Four Bags. He has worked with artists such as a.o. Kurt Rosenwinkel\, Bang on a Can\, Jackie Cain. \n \nTaking on and then overcoming challenges and telling a story are always at the heart of Ties Mellema’s work. Whether it’s the false-polyphonic cello suites by Johann Sebastian Bach on baritone saxophone\, the monomaniac Gradus by Philip Glass or the extreme free jazz by his hero John Coltrane: Ties Mellema always goes in search of the boundaries of disciplines and the possibilities on his instrument. \n \nRobin Koek is an enterprising sound artist who aspires to nurture a new cognitive understanding of the world surrounding us mediated through art and education. These realities can be experienced as dynamic environments in which sensory feedback to the interactor is an essential component.
