SUMMARY:Harvest Festival
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nFrom the 30st of May till the 1st of June GROND will host part of the Harvest Festival organized in collaboration with damdam – an interconnected web of collectives emerging from de Appel’s Curatorial Programme\, the Lumbung Practice Temporary Master Programme at Sandberg Instituut and Gudskul’s Collective Study Programme in Indonesia. \nBuilding on the 25 years of Lumbung kindred experiments leading to lumbung – documenta fifteen\, for the first time this year we will gather with collectives to practice sustainable economies\, to think about our collective infrastructures\, shared practices\, common resources and values. One of our values is caring about the process\, rather than focusing on the production of artworks or exhibitions as isolated outputs. We turn toward each other and the relations that bind us. \nOur curatorial approach is embedded in the politics of friendship\, interdependence\, trust\, collective joy as well as engagement withAmsterdam and our localities. Alongside mapping our resources and needs in our ecosystem\, we build a common ground and think about potential seeds to plant. Out of this process\, several self-organised working groups emerged around common urgencies: community\, land\, economy\, printing\, publishing\, pedagogy\, documenting and archiving. In the Harvest Festival 2025 we share our understanding of lumbung practice and ongoing processes through nongkrongs (gatherings)\, workshops\, screenings\, discussions\, dinners and parties. What kind of future can we envision if we reorient our work around sharing\, communal rhythms\, and solidarity? \nThe program at GROND: \nFriday 30 May\, 10.00 – 17.00 \nMubadele\nWorkshop and Talk \nThrough the idea of Mubadele we aim to create a system where knowledge\, skills\, and materials circulate beyond the constraints of money. By mapping our existing resources\, and by organising discussions on funding\, this gathering is part of a longer-term vision: to develop strategies for economic resilience that are rooted in solidarity\, not scarcity. With Elke Uitentuis\, Colin Roustan and Alina Lupu. \nExhibition Opening – Everywhere is War\nFriday 30 May\, 17.00 – 21.00 \nThrough the making of stop motion animations the collectives Er Sell Reality and SSMG (Sudanese Stop Motion Group) gave shape to the feelings of guilt that they are facing because of leaving their beloved land and relationships behind. Everywhere is War is a process-oriented presentation that shows how both collectives have been experimenting with the animation techniques and exploring the battlefields under their skin. \nDuring the opening there will be dinner from 5 to 7pm cooked by Mohamed Alnoor\, \nand from 9pm a radio performance by Marc Nukoop\, Ivo Bol and Wytze Minne de Swart. \nThe exhibition is also open on 31 May and 1 June from 12 to 9pm. \n  \nSaturday 31 May\, 18.00 – 21.00 \nDon’t Stop Talking About Exile: The Voice of Women TV Show + Congo Solidarity Dinner\nScreening/discussion + Dinner convened by We Sell Reality & Parole de Femmes \nParole de Femmes TV Show (The Voice of Women TV Show) is a collaborative short-film led by women from the Emmaüs community. The screening will be followed by a talk with the creators of the film\, followed by a solidarity dinner for Congo. Guest speakers Eric Bimule and Aime Kabena will inform us about the situation DRC. \n  \nThe exhibition is also open on  1 June from 12 to 9pm. \nThrough the making of stop motion animations the collectives We Sell Reality and SSMG (Sudanese Stop Motion Group) gave shape to the feelings of guilt that they are facing because of leaving their beloved land and relationships behind. Everywhere is War is a process-oriented presentation that shows how both collectives have been experimenting with the animation techniques and exploring the battlefields under their skin. \n  \nImage: Work in progress – stop motion animation – We Sell Reality i.s.m Nina Karim van Oort

No rules\, no judgement.
All different.
Stepping in the unknown.
Where the schedule stopped running. We Play. \nJulie Kurris is a theatrical performer and transdisciplinary Scientist who is always looking to dialogue with other performers and artists. She loves to play and create spaces that were unthinkable. \n \nDaphne Karstens combines sculpture and costume to create experimental wearable sculptures\, costumes\, performances and installations. Her work focuses on experimentation with materials\, shape and structure on and around the body. She often works with unconventional materials and combines the individual qualities of materials with shapes and structures. \n \nJasper Stadhouders’ playing showcases a completely natural musicality. One has the sense that he is so connected with his instrument he can play whatever he imagines. His ability to perform difficult compositions\, with an assured sense of rhythm and harmony\, combined with his extremely physical and dynamic approach to improvising\, has led him being one of the most sought after guitarists around. \nScreenshot\nOlga Tsyganova was born in St.Petersburg\, Russia and grew up in the U.S. Seeking out what brings joy and gives challenges\, she found teachers in storytelling and listening\, dance\, theater. Her studies in psychology and her passion of dance brought her to the desire to do physical theater. She studied at the Mime school in Amsterdam and works on combining poetry\, dreams\, reality and music in her work. \n\nNasim López-Palacios Navarro is an artist who works with music and computers. As a drummer\, improviser\, and composer\, and a beginner in programming\, he uses these tools to create art\, and as a source of inspiration. \n\nFor Ivo Bol all sounds are special: the hum of the fridge\, or the noise of the record just before the song starts. He performs his music using his body and mind to manipulate these sounds with light sensors\, touch\, gesture or brainwaves. \n \n\n\n\n

The five artists bring their live-electronics solo sets.  Among others\, expect performances with modular synthesisers\, DIY musical instruments\, and light sensors. \n\n______________________\nAbout the Artists\nTRUSTYOURT  (Kristina Vodorezova) is a modular enthusiast and a minimalist at heart\, trustyourt navigates listeners through intricate sonic realms where chance and intention dance as one. Embracing the beauty of chaos and the spontaneity of improvisation\, she weaves delicate drone compositions that invite deep\, collective listening. Her performances shift between the intimacy of a single wearable DIY instrument and the expansive presence of a sprawling modular suitcase. With a love for blending the raw resonance of acoustic instruments – like zither and kalimba – with the unpredictable pulse of modular synthesis\, trustyourt blurs the boundaries between the organic and the electric\, offering meditative portals into unknown soundscapes. \nTRUSTYOURT\nCtrl Freq a.k.a Kacper Ziemianin has a background in classical music and a lot of adventures in modern sound and music. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sonic Arts from Middlsex University\, London and Master’s degree in Sonology at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague\, the Netherlands. \nSound designer\, circuit bender\, vagabond\, improviser\, producer\, audio-hacker\, instrument designer\, nomad\, radio presenter\, workshop leader\, squatter\, soon-to-be a published writer. His audio works have been shown and played in many places around and outside of Europe. Currently based in The Hague\, NL working as a freelance instrument designer and performer as well as teacher of DIY electronics. His latest endeavor\, the ‘LightSeq’ has received funding from Stimuleringsfonds NL and won an award at an international electronic music festival ‘Radical dB’ in Zaragoza\, Spain. \nCtrl Freq\nKryptogen Rundfunk is an experimental sound project started in 2002 in St. Petersburg\, Russia and\ncurrently based in Amstelveen\, The Netherlands. The project works with analogue electronics\, radio\nwaves\, electromagnetic interference and found sounds\, creating sophisticated aural images\, often\nexploring extreme areas of the sonic spectrum. The purpose of these experiments is to temporarily\nswitch off listeners’ rational perception and immerse them into the direct experience of abstract sound.\nDuring the 20 years of its activity\, the project has recorded several studio albums released by European\nand Russian labels\, and performed numerous live gigs\, both solo and in collaboration with many local and\ninternational artists. Among the most well-known names to share the stage with were Einstürzende\nNeubauten\, Ben Frost\, Bad Sector\, Jacob Kirkegaard\, Aube\, Clock DVA\, and Brighter Death Now.\nArtem Ostapchuk\, the man behind this project\, is also the founder of the Zhelezobeton record label\, which\nbecame one of the biggest distributors of experimental music in Russia\, but was closed in 2022 because\nof relocation to The Netherlands. At present time\, Artem operates Base Station label\nand Fonodroom distribution. \nKryptogen Rundfunk\nMazen Al Ashkar is a mixed media artist creating interactive objects\, images\, videos\, and installations\, who plays with words as well as musical and nonmusical forms of sounds. He is interested in looking at the functions given to natural and constructed elements in relation to metaphysical narratives within structures such as idealism and materialism. \nMazen Al Ashkar\nFani Konstantinidou is a composer\, performer\, and music researcher based in Amsterdam. She expresses her musical ideas in various formats such as site-specific and multichannel compositions\, improvisation\, and through collaborative projects with artists of various disciplines. Within these contexts\, she performs live-electronics and composes music for solo instruments and small ensembles. \nFani Konstantinidou

SUMMARY:Temperatura: Looking for Life vol.1
DESCRIPTION:Looking for Life vol. 1 presents three sound performances on the evening of the 21st of May at GROND\, Amsterdam. Part of the Temperatura experimental music series.\nWith Ege Şahin\, Domenika Georgiou\, and Oscar van Leest.\nCurated by Kristijonas Groblys. \nfood by Judith Baten \nThe act of looking for life is rooted in the search for vital\, necessary action — the wish to be affected\, the openness to experience. Three artists will weave around the theme of sound-making and its connection to the act of living.\nShaping sound physically\, Ege Şahin will intervene in acoustic space with feedback baritone guitar. The improvised poetry of towering and complex tone structures emerges in the modular synthesis of Oscar van Leest. Domenika Georgiou blends human and machine life in her performance for Nintendo 3DS and mechanical armour. \nGROND Bijdorpstraat 1\, 1096AP\, Amsterdam\n20:00 (doors: 19:30)\nTickets: regular €10 (or more) / discount €7 – available at the door or Online \nDinner: + €15 (RSVP required – Reserve by purchasing online) \nAbout the Artists\nEge Şahin – Mirror Angel\nEge Şahin’s Mirror Angel emerges from an improvisation practice to explore sound’s vibratory potential in the space between a human performer\, electric guitar\, and amplifier(s). There will be a rationally tuned baritone feedback guitar\, transducers\, electromagnetic mics and exciters\, and a performer in relationship with them through feedback\, metal objects\, and his body. \nEge Şahin works in sound and music near the free-improvisation and electro-acoustic spheres with care for materiality in composition and spirituality in performance. On the more academic side\, he has been researching the relationship between different cultures’ metaphysics and their sound culture as part of his Master’s at the Institute of Sonology\, in the Hague\, where he is now based. \n \nOscar van Leest – Untitled \nOscar van Leest (1994) is an Amsterdam-based sound artist\, musician and sound designer. In his practice\, he explores the entangled relationships between sound and spatial context and how they are experienced across a wide range of technical tools; from software and to electro-acoustic devices and modular synthesis. The same tools shape his musical projects where they are applied in a genre-defying sonic framework of experimental electronics that emphasizes improvisation\, indeterminacy and generativity. \nOscar will perform a texture-focused live set\, built around a modular synthesizer setup.  \n \nDomenika Georgiou – 𝑀𝑒𝒸𝒽𝒶𝐻𝑒𝒶𝓇𝓉𝒞𝑜𝓇𝑒 \nDomenika Georgiou is a multidisciplinary artist based in The Hague. Currently pursuing an MA in ArtScience at KABK and the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Her work spans performance\, immersive installations\, sound\, digital media\, and custom-built machinery—including wearable cyber prostheses and autonomous devices. With a deep interest in paradox\, transformation\, and post-dualistic states\, Domenika explores the thresholds of identity and perception through symbolic\, metaphorical and cybernetic frameworks. Her work has been shown and performed across Europe in venues such as Kupfer Gallery (London)\, Fabbrica del Vapore (Milan)\, Bim Milano. \n𝑀𝑒𝒸𝒽𝒶𝐻𝑒𝒶𝓇𝓉𝒞𝑜𝓇𝑒 is a powered armor machine with a built-in heart mechanism\, designed to protect the wearer from external threats while fulfilling the human desire to mechanize nature in the pursuit of new life through technology. The soundscape unfolds through glitchy Nintendo textures moving between ambient sweetness and distortion. It shifts from a comforting softness to chaos\, from delicacy to decay—beating a rhythm of memory transforming into new life\, and exploring the tension between fragility and artificial foreverness \n \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Free Improvisation\nw/Giuseppe Doronzo\, Katerina Orfanoudaki\, Nina Hitz\, Jasna Veličković\, Fani Konstantinidou\, + food by Judith Baten\nGROND Bijdorpstraat 1\, 1096AP\, Amsterdam\n20:30 – Dinner from 18:30\nTickets: regular €10 (or more) / discount €7 / +Dinner p.p. €15* – available at the door or online\n*Reservation is recommended – please reserve by purchasing online.\n \nOn Saturday 17 May\, come to GROND for our first Temperatura music event. The GROND members and live electronics performers Jasna Veličković and Fani Konstantinidou improvise with the harpsichord player Katerina Orfanoudaki\, the cello player Nina Hitz\, and the baritone saxophone player Giuseppe Doronzo. A free improvisation evening where the five artists are coming together for the first time.\nThe same evening\, Judith Baten is improvising in the kitchen and preparing vegan/vegetarian dinner! \n\n______________________\nAbout the Artists\nKaterina Orfanoudaki is a harpsichordist and performer whose work bridges early music traditions with contemporary and experimental practices. She studied Harpsichord Performance at the Ionian University under Katerina Michopoulou and continued her specialization in Contemporary Harpsichord at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Goska Isphording\, Menno van Delft\, and Kris Verhelst. She has also pursued studies in Music Cognition at the University of Amsterdam. \nHer projects often explore unconventional instrumentations and transdisciplinary collaborations. She is a founding member of ensembles including Duo Suzanne (with flutist Teresa Costa)\, Sine Sole Sileo (with vocalist Irene Soroźabal Moreno)\, and experimental duos combining harpsichord with saxophonist Nicki Kokolakis\, double bassist Ignacio Pintó\, and electronics. \nHer artistic work includes original compositions and performative soundscape interventions\, as seen in projects like “Formed by the Gaze\, Twisted by the Beast”\, “Galatea” co-created together with Vera Morais and “Relocations: Polyphony and Identity.” With a deep interest in historically informed performance\, new music\, free improvisation and cross-genre creation\, Katerina continually seeks to expand the expressive possibilities of the harpsichord in today’s musical landscape. \nKaterina Orfanoudaki – photo: Thomas Huisman\nNina Hitz is a cellist living in the Netherlands\, originally trained in early music but drawn to the fringes of sound. A former member of The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble and The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation\, she has collaborated with dancers\, actors\, musicians\, and performance artists in both the Netherlands and Switzerland\, creating works that ranged from tightly structured compositions to more fluid\, atmospheric\, and unpredictable forms. \nHer work explores sound as a parallel to life — layered\, unstable\, and full of contradiction. She is fascinated by inconsistency\, embracing the imperfect and the ephemeral. Whether through structured improvisation or intuitive noise\, she seeks resonance in all forms\, sizes\, and silences. \nNina Hitz\nGiuseppe Doronzo is an Italian multi-reed player\, composer and performer based in Amsterdam. He focuses his research on the baritone saxophone\, where he expands a vocabulary at the intersection of contemporary music\, jazz improvisation and non-western music. His musical quest merges composed and improvised music with ancient Mediterranean cultures and rituals. In his recent performances\, he introduces instruments discovered during his travels\, like the ney-anban (Iranian bagpipe)\, hulusi (Chinese gourd reed instrument)\, longari (Albanian double flute)\, and mizmar (Egyptian reed instrument)\, that made a profound emotional and sonic impact on him. He also collaborates with choreographers and film makers. \nIn 2022 has received the BUMA Award for his film music and in 2024 the Musician of the Year Award from Polish Jazz Press Magazine. He leads AVA Trio and has worked with creative artists covering various fields of the national and international art including: Michael Moore\, Joe Lovano\, Mariem Hassan\, Han Bennink\, NDR Big Band\, João Bosco\, Taylor Ho Bynum\, Irene Aebi Lacy\, Jim Black\, Matt Wilson. \nGiuseppe Doronzo – photo: Yiğit Demircioğlu\nJasna Veličković is a Belgrade-born composer and performer based in Amsterdam. Her artistic output has been developed through an interaction between a life-long fascination with the sound\, an enduring interest in an intricate encounter between music and technology\, and an inclination toward experimentation. \nJasna Veličković\nFani Konstantinidou is a composer\, performer\, and music researcher based in Amsterdam. She expresses her musical ideas in various formats such as site-specific and multichannel compositions\, improvisation\, and through collaborative projects with artists of various disciplines. A unique experience! \nThe String Octet:\nAfter coming together as a group last year in this unique composition\, this is already the second project of this octet. These eight string players have been playing together for years\, but this composition has proven to be a great success. SUMMARY:Aldrich/Bol/van Dijk/Valeriano\, & Ties Mellema and Robin Koek
DESCRIPTION:Electronic music\, saxophones\, keyboards\, and spoken word\nBy Ties Mellema & the new band Aldrich/Bol/van Dijk/Valeriano. Special guest Robin Koek. Our Canteen is open\, serving delicious food from 18:00 hrs onwards! \nGROND Bijdorpstraat 1\, 1096AP\, Amsterdam\nMusic starts at 20:00 – dinner will be served from 18:30\nTickets: regular €10 (or more) / discount €7 – available at the door or online here.\nDinner: + €12\,5 (RSVP required – Reserve by purchasing online) \nIvo Bol and Ties Mellema have played together for many years. Now they join forces with keyboardist and composer Tom Aldrich\, saxophonist Michiel van Dijk and spoken word artist Jeannine Valeriano. \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \nJeannine Valeriano is a writer\, singer\, spoken word performer and actress\, exploring the boundaries between language and music. \n \nMichiel van Dijk studied classical saxophone with Leo van Oostrom and jazz saxophone with John Ruocco at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag. Michiel has played with almost all the renowned orchestras and ensembles in the Netherlands. Additionally\, he has collaborated with various theater productions and ensembles as a composer and arranger. \n \nTom Aldrich is the leader of the group Zolder Ellipsis and was a co-founder of the Four Bags. He has worked with artists such as a.o. Kurt Rosenwinkel\, Bang on a Can\, Jackie Cain. \n \nTaking on and then overcoming challenges and telling a story are always at the heart of Ties Mellema’s work. Whether it’s the false-polyphonic cello suites by Johann Sebastian Bach on baritone saxophone\, the monomaniac Gradus by Philip Glass or the extreme free jazz by his hero John Coltrane: Ties Mellema always goes in search of the boundaries of disciplines and the possibilities on his instrument. \n \nRobin Koek is an enterprising sound artist who aspires to nurture a new cognitive understanding of the world surrounding us mediated through art and education. These realities can be experienced as dynamic environments in which sensory feedback to the interactor is an essential component.

SUMMARY:Opening GROND Kitchen and Music of Rubakov trio + Moonshine
DESCRIPTION:AN EVENING WITH MUSIC OF RUBAKOV TRIO & MOONSHINE AND FOOD FROM OUR **NEW** KITCHEN!\nPrice for dinner sliding scale starting from € 12\,50\, \nPrice for concert sliding scale starting from € 5 \n\nPROGRAMME\n18:00 / GROND Kitchen Opening – A Taste of Things to Come\nGROND\, the new art space and collective at Nieuwe Bajesdorp\, is rooted in collectivity\, sustainability\, cross-pollination\, and process-based work. As part of this vision\, we are excited to introduce the GROND Kitchen\, a space where food becomes an extension of our artistic and communal practice. \nOn February 14th\, we invite you to join us for the official opening of the GROND Kitchen. From 18:00 onwards\, you are welcome to explore our food offering\, followed by a live concert later in the evening. (En feestje) \nWhat to Expect?\nWe will serve a diverse selection of small dishes\, offering you a taste of what GROND Kitchen has to offer. The evening will feature an assortment of vegetarian (mostly vegan) bites\, along with a soup & salad buffet inspired by Eastern-European cuisine\, in harmony with the music of the night. \nA Preview of the GROND Kitchen\nThis event is a first introduction to our culinary approach—an opportunity to share our vision through food and give you a glimpse of what’s to come. The chefs are Ramon Smit and Judith Baten (with the support of Lianne van Roekel). \nWe are looking forward to sharing this moment with you! Join us at GROND on February 14th at 18:00. \n \n20:00 / Music of Rubakov Trio & Moonshine\nWe offer you this evening improvisation and freewheeling poetic compositions and local country music! \nThe music of the Rubakov Trio is inspired by the work of the Soviet artist Alessandro Rubakov (Messina 1912 – Jrkoetsk 1981)\, Eric Dolphy\, Leo Wadada\, and artist Maria Basile. Hansko has been playing with Bas for decades in the phenomenal band Plan Kruutntoone. \n\nRuggero di Luisi (Palermo/amsterdam) drums and fruleta.\nHansko Visser (bonn/groningen) otwin guitar and rattles\nBas Alblas (haarlem/den andel) double bass\nLyrics by Hansko\, Wadada\, Luetzi and Brodsky\n\nThe music of Moonshine is a soulful country/bluegrass ‘met een lach en een traan’ (with a smile and a tear). From Hank Williams till Henk Wijngaard. Moonshine is Marita (voice\, guitar) Nico (banjo\, voice)\, Lucas (bass). \n \nAca Abujevic Rubakov (Giampilieri 1912- near Irkutsk 1981?) was the fruit of love
of an afro-russian sailor and the priests daughter in a sicilian village…
they met in the aftermath of the 1911 earth quake in Messina\, where
the russian fleet tried to help out\, Maria was a voluntary nurse\, and the little Allessandro (aca) was conceived. \nWhen he was born\, his father had been re-allocated to Russia already. Turning 17 he left the warmth of his Sicilian mothers home
to find traces of his father and his background. during his time in the soviet union
studied a few years at a leningrad art collective\, but then
dissapeared for decennia.\nit was known only much later (in the end of the eighties)\, that he
spent time with the Tengeri people near Irkutsk\, where his father Abu was said
to have died in a Stalin camp in the thirties\, and where Aca enventually fell ill.
He was taken care of by the local Shaman and spent his last year painting
on literally everything he could find. \nHansko met his work the first time he played in Vilnius with I Zimbra visiting a
semi legal art exhibition ( 1988!) where among the work of contemporay lithuanian artists\, some of the
found objects of A A Rubakov where shown.
Later\, while at work in Messina we found more drawings and dug op fragments of the story of his life.
With the help of people in Petersburg and Dusanbe (!) later paintings were retrieved.
To us \, the most intrigueing element of the work is the search of an artist for his (black) roots\, mixed with the siberian
shamanistic influences of his last dwelling place.
We try to combine it with our search for a musical background where we try to belong\, to feel at home. \n

SUMMARY:De Ruimte presents Ruisburo
DESCRIPTION:So Long De Ruimte!\nAll things come to an end. After 11 years\, it’s time to say goodbye\, so long and farewell De Ruimte. We are looking forward to celebrating the legacy of De Ruimte with you in November and December. Join us as we explore the past and look to the future. \nWhile some things come to an end\, other people and places are popping up! The final edition of Ruisburo will take place at GROND\, a new art space and collective at the Nieuwe Bajesdorp.  Join us in discovering this new venue dedicated to experimental music\, on this evening featuring no less then 4 acts with live electronics\, sound experiments and improvisation. \nLINE-UP:\nZENO VAN DEN BROEK\nAIMÉE THERIOT\nCLARA DE ASIS\nDODÓ KIS & ORPHAX DUO \ninfo and tickets: https://www.cafederuimte.nl/agenda/ruisburo-at-grond/ \n \nDODÓ KIS \nDodó Kis is a Hungarian recorder and EWI (electric wind instrument) player\, composer and improviser with a soft spot for theater and electronics. She is a free-spirited player who finds her space in a variety of genres and styles\, from folk-jazz to alternative funk-rock\, from early music to free improvisation. Her most recent projects include the multimedia trio VEZEL and improvisational dance band The Big Kiss. In 2024 Dodó has been touring with her new solo program that incorporates all elements that are dear to her heart; recorders\, electronics\, performance and folk music from her home country. \n \nORPHAX\nAmsterdam based musician and trained drummer Sietse van Erve (Orphax) was introduced to electronic music in the early nineties. After playing around with tracker software and music with beats and melodies\, he started researching new sounds and new ways of working – always with an organic touch\, often incorporating sounds that would be regarded by others as errors or mistakes. Considering life isn’t without errors either. During this search\, he found his way into drone and microtonal music. As a result in his most recent work\, time and spatiality become more important factors. The goal of the music is for the listener to lose the sense of time and place. Live this is combined with room for improvisation. This way of working often results in an organic form of drone and minimal music. \n \nAIMÉE THERIOT\nAimée’s music draws from free improvisation\, ambient\, ASMR\, and soundscape recordings\, with a heavy dose of experimentation using live electronics\, e-cello\, guitar\, and voice. Her work has been presented at festivals and galleries internationally\, and her music has been released on labels such as Sofa Music\, Editions Verde\, Unheard Records\, and Relative Pitch Records amongst others. Aimée co-founded and facilitates The Social Music Club; open improvisation and sound experimentation sessions for musicians and non-musicians alike. \n \nCLARA DE ASÍS \nClara de Asís is a composer\, performer and producer who explores the correlations of acoustics\, spatiality and the praxis of attention. Her work accounts for material and sociopolitical relationality in the processes of engaging with sound\, and is grounded in the elasticity of perception. She incorporates electronics and sound synthesis to idiosyncratic combinations of diverse materials\, found objects and traditional instrumentation. \nHer compositions\, often developed collaboratively\, juxtapose structural precision to areas of indeterminacy\, drawing from an interest in experimental intonation\, timbral research and the junction of rational and irrational systems. \n \nZENO VAN DEN BROEK \nZeno van den Broek is a composer and artist who explores the intricate relationship between humans and technology. Through his audiovisual creations\, he delves into how our interactions with fabricated environments shape our experiences. Van den Broek’s works challenge the conventional understanding of how we perceive and engage with technology-infused spaces. By creating intense and thought-provoking experiences\, he disrupts our habitual consumption of these spaces and interactions\, prompting us to venture beyond our comfort zones and actively explore new possibilities.

At that time they played a flute and a few laptops. A lot has happened since. It has been tremendously wonderful to meet again and play together. This GROND show is their first duo appearance after quite some time. This time they will play flute\, a couple of laptops and more electronic devices and gadgets. \n \nConvex Stream is a composition by Thomas Myrmel\, with excerpts from John Ashbery’s Self-portrait in a Convex Mirror. The participating artists are Mehrnaz Khorrami\, Dominique Chabot\, Jasna Veličković (GROND)\, Dan Gibson (NE)\, Anne Wellmer (NE)\, and Semay Wu (NE). \n  \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \nMehrnaz Khorrami is an electro-acoustic composer and violin player based in The Hague\, the Netherlands. She studied Sonology at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and has a background in classical music. She is active in classical\, contemporary and improvised music. She performs regularly with ensembles and orchestras in the Netherlands and abroad. The projects she enjoys most are the ones that collaborate with other disciplines. \n \nJasna Veličković is a Belgrade-born composer and performer based in Amsterdam. Her artistic output has been developed through an interaction between a life-long fascination with the sound\, an enduring interest in an intricate encounter between music and technology\, and an inclination toward experimentation. \nNew Emergences is a platform for advocating diversity within digital media culture\, electronic & contemporary music\, and sound art. The NE Foundation is based in the Netherlands and consists of a group of composers\, improvisers\, performers\, and researchers working in the field electronic music.
