DESCRIPTION:With a Sudanese lunch by Mohamed Alnoor\, a performance by The Black Pharaohs and the screening of ‘What’s next?’ by SSMG.\nThe massacre of hundreds of Sudanese civilians after the Darfur city of El Fasher was captured by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is the latest chapter in a brutal conflict that has killed more than 150.000 people over the past two and a half years. We need this horrific war to end\, and Sudan needs your support and awareness. Therefor we will organize ‘Free Sudan’ – an event in which we celebrate the rich Sudanese culture\, in which we mourn all the victims and in which we will inform you about the situation in Sudan. \nWe will start our gathering with a traditional Sudanese lunch prepared by Mohamed Alnoor. Then ‘The Black Pharaohs’ will perform traditional dance and music from the Nuba Mountains area. The performers will explain the meaning of the different songs and dances. A stop motion animation titled ‘What’s next?’ made by SSMG (Sudanese Stop Motion Group) will be screened. This animation takes you along the route of fleeing Darfur towards Uganda. \nWe hope you will join us in solidarity!

Against our best intentions\, we are conditioned by the neoliberal structures that we want to get rid of\, and we bring this into the groups we formed to fight them. How do we stay with this trouble and also take care of each other and ourselves? It takes learning and unlearning to find healthier ways forward.  \nSounds familiar? DESCRIPTION:Hakoura Collective invites you to an evening of music\, food\, solidarity\, and collective action to raise vital funds for local community networks working on the ground in the southern Syrian city of As-Sweida. \nIn the aftermath of the attack on As-Sweida in July 2025\, the city has faced its largest wave of displacement. Entire villages were destroyed\, leaving many families without homes and with limited access to scarce basic supplies. Today\, over 187\,000 people remain displaced within As-Sweida city and its surrounding areas. \nAt this Winter Warm-Up Solidarity Event\, we come together to honour and support the resilience of the people of As-Sweida; a community that continues to show us what it means to stand with one another\, even when left alone in times of crisis. \nAll funds raised will go directly to trusted local community networks on the ground in As-Sweida who are working tirelessly to provide displaced families in hospitality centres with essential supplies and care.\nTogether\, we can help sustain their efforts through this challenging season. DESCRIPTION:FOOD ART INSTALLATION:\nFLAVOURS OF MY MEMORY (SMAKEN VAN MIJN HERINNERING) \nWhat if you could taste memories?\nFlavours of My Memory is a social and sensory art project that brings together memories\, flavours\, and neighbourhood stories in an edible installation.\nOur focus is the Bajeskwartier — a new district built on the site of the former Bijlmerbajes prison. We spoke with former prison staff\, people who worked there during its time as an asylum seekers’ centre\, and local residents. Their stories have been translated into an edible landscape: a table you not only see — but also smell\, touch\, and taste.\nAlongside these personal accounts\, we also explored the area’s history. From the 17th-century country estates along the Amstel to the industrial boom: step by step\, we built a timeline of this changing place. The result is a layered portrait of the neighbourhood\, expressed in scent\, colour\, and flavour.\nOn 18 October\, we invite you to take a seat\, listen to hidden histories\, and share in tasting the memory of this remarkable place.\nIn the former director’s house of the Bijlmerbajes — now GROND — you will experience performances\, hear local voices\, and taste stories that would otherwise remain untold. She loves to play and create spaces that were unthinkable. \n \nDaphne Karstens combines sculpture and costume to create experimental wearable sculptures\, costumes\, performances and installations. Her work focuses on experimentation with materials\, shape and structure on and around the body. She often works with unconventional materials and combines the individual qualities of materials with shapes and structures. \n \nGoda Žukauskaitė is a Lithuanian performer and maker based in Amsterdam\, NL. As a dancer/performer\, she is working with companies Schweigman& (Boukje Schweigman) (NL)\, Kalpanarts (NL) and collaborating with independent artists around the Netherlands\, Lithuania\, Belgium and France. Goda is creating her own work mostly focused on durational\, endurance and site-specific performances which challenges the physical limits of the body. As an artist\, she often focuses on a single object\, seemingly simple at first glance\, unfolds into complex and layered narratives that intrigue and inspire.\npicture by Bowie Verschuuren \nJasper Stadhouders’ playing showcases a completely natural musicality. One has the sense that he is so connected with his instrument he can play whatever he imagines. His ability to perform difficult compositions\, with an assured sense of rhythm and harmony\, combined with his extremely physical and dynamic approach to improvising\, has led him being one of the most sought after guitarists around. \n\nNasim López-Palacios Navarro is an artist who works with music and computers. As a drummer\, improviser\, and composer\, and a beginner in programming\, he uses these tools to create art\, and as a source of inspiration. \n\nFor Ivo Bol all sounds are special: the hum of the fridge\, or the noise of the record just before the song starts. He performs his music using his body and mind to manipulate these sounds with light sensors\, touch\, gesture or brainwaves.
