An event which is part of the OPEN EAR series\, an enthusiastic endeavour aiming at increasing our listening awareness\, initiated by the sound and radio artist Daniel García. Together with the sound artist Mayke Haringhuizen they have selected special works and they invite us to discover the artistry of attentive listening.\nAn informal gathering to chat and listen to the world from a new perspective.\n\nOPEN EAR presents: Other-than-Human\nDoes Earth speak to us? A session dedicated to frequencies from non-human entities and geological forces that question our human nature and time scale. OPEN EAR is an evening for creative audio\, radio art and experimental recordings. Close your eyes\, open your ears and join us to listen together to a cherry-picked selection of short audio pieces. \n*our doors will be open until late. For those interested in continuing their listening adventure\, the listening session will be followed by an improvised music concert by the L.A.S. Collective\, Dominique Chabot\, & Marcos Baggiani. more info\n \n_____________\nAbout the Artists\nDaniel García is a filmmaker and sound artist\, author of radio art pieces\, installations\, audiodocumentaries and podcasts. Based in Amsterdam since 2016\, he has produced work for De Ambassade van deNoord Zee\, Worm\, Radiophrenia and Concertzender. \nDaniel García\nMayke Haringhuizen is a Dutch artist based in Amsterdam. In her practice she explores the way people shape their own perception and reality through thought and wording. Fieldrecording\, interviews and personal writing are her main tools. Collective is more than just a band presenting a specific musical style. It is a collective of artists associated with the L.A.S. Foundation (Listening and Sounding)\, which organically emerged during a concert tour promoting the L.A.S. Listening and Sounding label in Europe in 2024. The musicians continually propose new artistic combinations depending on where they are and in what constellation they create new art. They are characterised by complete openness\, an awareness of creating new concepts\, forms\, sounds\, conscious and deep listening\, and coherence of expression regardless of any stylistic limitations. \nMarcos Baggiani is a drummer\, composer\, and music producer based in Amsterdam. He counts numerous collaborations with artists and musicians from around the world. \nMarcos Baggiani\nDominique Chabot is a versatile double bass player\, active in classical\, contemporary\, and improvised music. She performs regularly with ensembles and orchestras in the Netherlands and abroad. The projects she enjoys most are the ones that collaborate with other disciplines. \nDominique Chabot
