The purpose of the session is to present an overview of the Mesoamerican Caravan to Belรฉm (COP30): a caravan traveling from Mexico to Brazil organized by Indigenous and campesino social movements, a space of encounter and mobilization for the peoples and communities that fight in defense of Mother Earth and of territories.
We aim to amplify the stories and demands of communities defending their land and advocating for environmental justice, while sharing our support, dialogue, and alternative approaches with participants. This initiative is a people-driven mobilization, from the local community to the global stage. Now is the time to support land defenders and indigenous communities in their fight for life. Let us stand together to resist violence, embrace pain, and organize our rage.
This event will take place on Tuesday 8 July, between 7-9pm, at GROND (Bijdorpstraat 1, Amsterdam) and is organized by Joint Cultural Initiatives, Debt for Climate, Feministas Holland, and Grond.
